02.120.0203 Reinforcement at masonry opening

This detail shows a possible layout for reinforcement around an opening in a concrete masonry wall. The masonry lintel comprises U-block over the opening with 2 #5 bars (or as designed) hooked downard 90 degrees into the jamb if development embedment is not possible, with #3 hairpin ties engaging the horizontal bars at the lintel if required. The vertical bar at each jamb shall be continuous between lateral supports or between floors. All vertical and horizontal bars are sized by design and spaced at intervals per design. This detail as shown is intended to illustrate a general concept or method of construction. Details that show different or modified concepts or methods can be of equal validity and should not be excluded from consideration. this detail shall not be used for construction without the approval an signature of a licensed design professional.      04.030.0202 Dimension stone wall, interior | Wire ties and molding plaster This detail shows 2 cm (3/4 in.) thick dimension stone anchored to an interior wall substrate with anchors of 8-gauge  (0.1285”) copper or stainless steel wire ties encapsulated by molding plaster at the perimeter of each stone panel. The wire is fitted into slightly oversized holes in edges of the stone panels, with wood plugs filling the space around the wire. The wire anchors are sized and spaced per empirical design and are fastened to the concrete masonry backing via holes cut into the block, also filled with plaster or rapid-curing cementitious material. Joints between the panels may be finished with compatible sealant and backer rod (not shown for clarity).
