02.120.0204B Control joint locations, irregular plan

This diagram shows the approximate locations and spacing of control joints (CJs) in an irregular building plan. Typical CJ spacing is 1.3 times the wall height or 25 feet, whichever is less, or by per design. At el-shaped an other irregular plan configurations masonry may continue around inside and outside corners, but a CJ should occur no greater than half the typical spacing on each side of the corner, or by design.
