02.120.0226 Steel beam connection to concrete masonry wall

This detail shows a structural steel beam or girder anchored to a grouted, reinforced concrete masonry wall. Clip angles are bolted to each side of the steel beam and anchored into a grouted portion of the concrete masonry wall, maintaining 2 in. minimum cover between the end of the embedded anchors and the interior face of the CMU's face shell. The masonry is grouted and reinforced vertically and horizontally at designed intervals. This detail as shown is intended to illustrate a general concept or method of construction.
