02.120.0228 Concrete masonry wall restraint to offset steel beam

This detail shows the top of wall restraint where an offset parallel steel beam provides restraint for the concrete masonry wall. The wall is anchored to the beam using a bent plates on both sides of the wall welded to the bottom flange of the beam. The offset beam above the wall is further braced with a diagonal angle brace connecting to adjacent framing if required. The top of the masonry is held back about 1 1/2" from the plate above. This detail as shown is intended to illustrate a general concept or method of construction.
