02.120.0228 Concrete masonry wall restraint to offset steel beam

This detail shows the top of wall restraint where an offset parallel steel beam provides restraint for the concrete masonry wall. The wall is anchored to the beam using a bent plates on both sides of the wall welded to the bottom flange of the beam. The offset beam above the wall is further braced with a diagonal angle brace connecting to adjacent framing if required. The top of the masonry is held back about 1 1/2" from the plate above. This detail as shown is intended to illustrate a general concept or method of construction. Details that show different or modified concepts or methods can be of equal validity and should not be excluded from consideration. this detail shall not be used for construction without the approval an signature of a licensed design professional.      04.030.0202 Dimension stone wall, interior | Wire ties and molding plaster This detail shows 2 cm (3/4 in.) thick dimension stone anchored to an interior wall substrate with anchors of 8-gauge  (0.1285”) copper or stainless steel wire ties encapsulated by molding plaster at the perimeter of each stone panel. The wire is fitted into slightly oversized holes in edges of the stone panels, with wood plugs filling the space around the wire. The wire anchors are sized and spaced per empirical design and are fastened to the concrete masonry backing via holes cut into the block, also filled with plaster or rapid-curing cementitious material. Joints between the panels may be finished with compatible sealant and backer rod (not shown for clarity).
