02.120.0229 Steel beam under concrete masonry wall

This detail shows a reinforced masonry wall bearing on a suspended slab with a steel beam directly underneath with hooked dowels in alternating directions into the slab. When the flutes of the decking do not line up with the beam below, engineer must verify hooked dowels can be developed into the slab. Concrete masonry wall is grouted and reinforced vertically and horizontally at intervals per design. This detail as shown is intended to illustrate a general concept or method of construction.
