02.120.0230 Concrete masonry wall restraint | Wall under steel beam

This detail shows the top of wall restraint where a parallel structural steel beam or girder is directly above the concrete masonry wall and the decking runs parallel to the wall. Angles are welded to the lower flange of the beam on each side of the wall, and the vertical legs of the angles are anchored into the wall with self-tapping screws or screw anchors. The beam is braced with a diagonal angle brace connecting to the suspended slab above to resist lateral loads. The top of the masonry is held back about 1 1/2" from the horizontal legs of the angles above. This detail as shown is intended to illustrate a general concept or method of construction. Details that show different or modified concepts or methods can be of equal validity and should not be excluded from consideration. this detail shall not be used for construction without the approval an signature of a licensed design professional.      04.030.0202 Dimension stone wall, interior | Wire ties and molding plaster This detail shows 2 cm (3/4 in.) thick dimension stone anchored to an interior wall substrate with anchors of 8-gauge  (0.1285”) copper or stainless steel wire ties encapsulated by molding plaster at the perimeter of each stone panel. The wire is fitted into slightly oversized holes in edges of the stone panels, with wood plugs filling the space around the wire. The wire anchors are sized and spaced per empirical design and are fastened to the concrete masonry backing via holes cut into the block, also filled with plaster or rapid-curing cementitious material. Joints between the panels may be finished with compatible sealant and backer rod (not shown for clarity).
