02.120.0232 Concrete masonry wall restraint adjacent to steel girder
This detail shows the top of wall restraint where a parallel structural steel beam or girder is adjacent to the concrete masonry wall. The wall is anchored to the beam using a bent plate, and the beam is braced with a diagonal angle brace connecting to the suspended slab above to resist lateral loads. On the side of the wall opposite the beam, the wall is restrained by angles welded to straps/plates, anchored to the suspended slab above. The top of the masonry is held back about 1 1/2" from the plate above. This detail as shown is intended to illustrate a general concept or method of construction.
