06.130.F144 Tile floor | Adhered to CBU over wood substrate

 

This detail shows ceramic tile adhered to cementitious backer units (CBU) over a wood substrate with a cementitious bond coat. The CBU underlayment is adhered and mechanically fastened to the plywood subfloor. Expansion joints in the floor assembly must be provided at locations shown by the design professional. This detail is based on the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) Handbook method F144.  Details that show different or modified concepts or methods can be of equal validity and should not be excluded from consideration. This detail shall not be used for construction without the approval an signature of a licensed design professional. The person using this detail shall be responsible for its complete design and proper application.
