04.040.0204 Dimension stone wall, interior | L-strap anchors with liner block This detail shows 3 cm (1 1/4 in.) thick dimension stone with continuous or intermittent liner blocks doweled and epoxied to the back of each stone panel, anchored to an interior wall substrate with L-strap anchors at the bottom of each stone panel. The liner blocks and anchors are sized and spaced per structural design. The anchors are fastened to the wall framing through an anchoring plate behind the wallboard. To correct for variations in the substrate, the anchors are shimmed as necessary to result in finish that is plumb. The liner blocks bear on a plastic or stiff rubber bearing shims supported by the anchors, keeping the panels level. Joints between the panels may be finished with compatible sealant and backer rod (not shown for clarity). The anchors are sized and spaced per structural design and are fastened to the wall framing through an anchoring plate behind the wallboard. To correct for variations in the substrate, the anchors are shimmed as necessary to result in finish that is plumb. A continuous rebated kerf is cut in the stone to receive the anchors and to achieve a tight joint between the stone panels.
